Graduates and Guests

Recognition Ceremony

The CJC Graduate Recognition Ceremony will take place on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. in the Reitz Union Ballroom.

Based on the number of graduates who will be attending, we will be able to provide each graduate with four (4) guest tickets for the ceremony. Any additional guests of our graduates are invited to join us in the Reitz Union Rion Ballroom to watch the ceremony via livestream. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. 500 seats will be available.

For those who cannot attend, the ceremony will be livestreamed at: https://bit.ly/2zQignj .

Students with special needs requests for themselves or guests can contact Bridget Grogan, Ceremony Coordinator, at bgrogan@jou.ufl.edu.

Reception

Before the Recognition Ceremony, we invite you, your family members and friends to join us in the Weimer Hall atrium for our Graduation Reception from 5 – 6 p.m. This will be an opportunity for you and your guests to meet faculty members, your classmates, and others who have contributed to your experience and successes as a CJC student.

What Graduates Need to Know

Graduates must check-in at the Reitz Union Grand Ballroom by 6 p.m. and will then assemble by department in the Grand Ballroom hallway.  When you pick up your tickets, there will be a name card in your ticket envelope that you will bring to the ceremony. You must bring your name card to the check-in table outside of the Ballroom.

We want to make this ceremony special for you and are including an opportunity for you to write a brief, personal message that will be read when your name is called to walk across the stage.

The name card in your ticket envelope will be used to announce your name.  It will include space for your name and for a message. Please fill in your message and keep it to one sentence of 15 words or fewer. Be sure to write legibly so the readers can announce it when you walk.

Here are a few suggestions on how to start:
