Come watch movies, TV shows, news, talk to industry professionals, and view how the media and pop culture address one of the major religions and minorities in this entertaining class for spring 2023.

About the Class

Islam, Media and Pop Culture is an elective that addresses how minorities are represented in the media. This discussion-based class tackles issues in the industry and provides the opportunity for students to create film and photo projects while speaking to professionals in the industry.

The class counts as a CJC school elective credit or an outside credit with the UF Religion Department, as well as a diversity credit class.

Islam, Media and Pop Culture is taught by award-winning filmmaker and MPMT Lecturer Iman Zawahry.
