UFCJC faculty and graduate students recognized at 2026 AEJMC Conference

Huan Chen, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Advertising professor and department chair, and doctoral student Yuan Nan will present their research paper at an Advertising Division session during the 2026 Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (AEJMC) Annual Conference in New Orleans form Aug. 5-8.

The paper “Fit, Value, and Character Integrity: How Audiences Evaluate Anime-Like Virtual Influencer Endorsements” received second place in the Top Open Research Paper category and qualified for the Advertising Division Refereed Research Paper Session on Aug. 5.

In addition, Chen and two doctoral students, Nan and Xinyi Zuo won the Top Special Paper category for “Authentic Innovation or Corporate Shortcut? How Consumers Interpret AI-Generated Advertising.” This paper will be presented on Aug. 7.

“Jazz & Jambalaya: Nurturing Harmony and Health in Higher Education” is the theme of the AEJMC 2026 Conference. Jazz and jambalaya are iconic symbols of New Orleans, showcasing the rich histories and diverse contributions of those who have called the Crescent City home over the centuries.
