UFCJC Public Relations Department and students honored in 2026 PRWeek Awards competition

The University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Public Relations Department was recognized as a top five finalist in the 2026 PRWeek Awards Outstanding Education Program competition. Public Relations junior Camila Garcia received an honorable mention in the Outstanding Student category and Public Relations senior Silvana Noriega Saravia was a top five finalist in the same category.

This is the sixth year in a row that the UFCJC Public Relations Department was selected as one of the top five programs in the country.  The department won the award in 2023 and 2025 and received an Honorable Mention in 2024.

University of Southern California was the winner and Syracuse University was the runner-up. The other two finalists were DePaul University and the University of Georgia.

Now celebrating its 27th year, the PRWeek Awards are considered one of the most prestigious award programs in the public relations industry. They celebrate the best of the best corporate, agency, nonprofit and education teams and the work they produce.

The winner was announced on March 12 in New York City.
