UFCJC Atlas Lab to host Computational Social Science Summer institute in June 2026
The University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Atlas Lab will host the 2026 Summer Institute in Computational Social Science (SICSS) from June 15-19. Atlas Lab Director Nathan Carpenter and Media Production, Management, and Technology Associate Professor Jieun Shin will serve as faculty for the Institute.
SICSS is a global training program that brings together students and researchers to learn computational methods to study social and online phenomena. The one-week session will build computational skills, peer networking and exploration of new research ideas.
The Summer Institute aims to bring together graduate students and postdoctoral researchers interested in computational social science and is open to both social and data scientists. Specific areas of focus include large language models, social media and digital trace data, text and network analysis, machine learning methods and research ethics and responsible artificial intelligence (AI).
The deadline to apply is April 10.
