Won-Ki Moon selected for 2026 AEJMC Emerging Scholar Grant
Won-Ki Moon, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Advertising assistant professor, has received one of two 2026 Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) Emerging Scholar Grants.
Moon’s winning project, “Smarter or Just More Confident? Investigating Generative AI’s Impact on Fact-Checking, the Illusion of Expertise, and Interventions for Digital Literacy,” will receive a $3,500 grant.
The AEJMC Emerging Scholars Program is designed to develop and nurture Journalism and Mass Communication teachers and researchers by fostering an intellectually stimulating environment. This program’s mission is to identify, encourage and recognize some of AEJMC’s most promising emerging scholars by providing funding for research or teaching projects.
AEJMC will showcase initial results from 2026 grants during a session at the organization’s 2026 conference in New Orleans in August 2026. Moon will also receive $500 to assist with travel expenses to the conference.
