WUFT Receives Seven 2021 RTDNA Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards

WUFT-FM and WUFT-TV, operated from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, are the winners of seven Region 13 2021 Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards. WUFT-FM received five and WUFT-TV received two Small Market Category regional awards.

Radio awards include:
Overall Excellence: WUFT-FM
Digital: “At the Finish Line” WUFT News Special Report
News Documentary: “Four Days, Five Murders
Newscast: Nov. 4, 2020 newscast
Podcast: “Four Days, Five Murders

Television awards include:
News Documentary: “The Forgotten City
Sports Reporting: “Beyond the Finish Line

The RTDNA Edward R. Murrow Awards are among the most prestigious in broadcast and digital news. Region 13 is comprised of media outlets from Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Regional winners automatically move on to the national round of consideration, which includes digital news organization and network competitors.

RTDNA has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. Award recipients demonstrate the spirit of excellence that Murrow set as a standard for the profession of electronic journalism. National winners, including digital news organization and student awards, will be announced in summer 2021.
