FPA/FPF 2020 Graduate Student Scholarship Awards

The Foreign Press Foundation (FPF) and the Foreign Press Association of the United States (FPA-USA) is pleased to accept submissions for the 2020 Foreign Press Foundation Scholarship Awards. These cash awards are for international graduate students studying journalism in the United States.

Founded in 1918 and originally known as the “Association of Foreign Correspondents in the United States,” the FPA-USA is the oldest association of journalists in the United States, and one of the oldest press associations in the world.

Over the past twenty-six years, the Foreign Press Foundation has awarded ninety-nine scholarships to international graduate journalism students studying in the United States.

Thanks to the investment in future generations of professional journalists by our generous corporate and individual sponsors, Alumni of the FPF Scholarship Awards have gone on to prestigious careers around the globe.

On behalf of the Foreign Press Foundation Scholarship Awards, I invite eligible students in your department to submit applications for scholarships. A First Place Award of $5,000 dollars will be presented.
We appreciate your assistance in sharing this announcement in your community of foreign graduate students studying journalism at your school. The 2020 Scholarships will be awarded to foreign journalism students for both print and multimedia submissions. Eligible students are current Masters level students in the 2019/2020 school year in a U.S. graduate school of journalism.

The deadline for this year’s submissions is March 15th, 2020.

The FPA Scholarship Awardees will be announced in the first week of April 2020. The awards will be presented at a ceremony in New York City in May, 2020.
