UFCJC and Disney Partner on Online Master’s Program for Employees

In partnership with the University of Florida, Walt Disney Company announced that they will pay full tuition for eligible employees who pursue an online master’s degree from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC). The UFCJC Online Master of Arts in Mass Communication program currently offers eight different specializations that are designed to provide students with in-demand communication skills to help them advance their careers.

The Walt Disney Company will provide access to the College’s online master’s degree programs through Disney Aspire, the company’s education benefits program focused on the career development of Disney’s workforce. More than 80,000 full-time and part-time hourly employees, who have more than 90 days of service, will be eligible to have 100 percent of their tuition, textbooks and course material paid upfront by Disney.

In addition to the UFCJC degrees, Disney employees can pursue master’s degrees from the UF College of Health and Human Performance in Tourism and Recreation Management, Applied Physiology and Kinesiology, and Health Education and Behavior.

As part of the enrollment process, a coach from Guild Education will determine the employee’s eligibility to receive educational benefits, review their academic background, and provide qualified prospective students with a unique link to the UF graduate admissions application. If granted admission by UF, Disney cast members could begin classes in August 2019 for the fall semester.

Previously, Disney announced a partnership with UF to offer online undergraduate degrees, which included UFCJC’s Public Relations and Telecommunication programs.
