Two CJC Seniors Honored for Their Film at the 2019 UF Campus Movie Fest

Two University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications students were honored at the UF Campus Movie Fest 2019. Telecommunication senior Will Hinson received the Silver Tripod for Best Director, and Advertising senior Spencer Kane received the Silver Tripod for Best Performance, for the film “Fidelity.”

Fidelity,” conceptualized around the irrational pursuit of perfection in relationships, was the directorial debut for Hinson. The film, with 40,700 views on YouTube since it was posted, also received UF Digital World’s Institute Award for Best in Time-Based Media.

Campus Movie Fest, the world’s largest student film festival, is the premier outlet for the next generation of filmmakers, with more than one million students at colleges and universities worldwide getting the chance to tell their stories through film. Students have one week to complete a short film. Hinson and Kane participated in the UF Campus Movie Fest Competition held Jan. 30 to Feb. 8.
