Tim Sorel, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Telecommunication associate professor, received the top prize in the BEA Best of Festival Awards for his documentary, “My Kid Is Not Crazy.”

Of the 1,450 entries from 175 colleges and universities, 17 were chosen as Best of Festival winners which Sorel won earlier this year in the Faculty Long-Form Video or Film Documentary Category. On April 24, BEA announced Sorel as the winner of the Faculty Chair Award, the Festival’s highest award.

Sorel was honored at the 15th Annual BEA Best of Festival King Foundation Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas on Monday as part of BEA’s annual convention. He and other winners were recognized with a special screening of their winning project.
