Telecommunication Senior Jessica Small Receives UF High Honors Medallion

Jessica Small, a senior University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Telecommunication student, has earned the UF High Honors Medallion. The honor is bestowed upon students who will graduate with honors in their major as well as earn eight academic and six enrichment points. Small is one of only 14 students who are receiving honor.

Academic points are earned for taking challenging courses, obtaining greater depth in a chosen field, and earning academic recognition. Options include honors courses, graduate courses (taken as an undergraduate), a double major/dual degree, minor/certificate programs, undergraduate research, publication in a refereed journal, presenting at a professional conference or an honors thesis.

Enrichment points are received for participating in UF activities that broaden a student’s perspective on society and make them a better citizen. Enrichment point opportunities include study abroad, internships, 50+ hours of community service, executive-level leadership positions, participation in a multi-day leadership conference or Florida Alternative Breaks.
