University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Dean Diane McFarlin was quoted in the article College Students Protest Donald Trump’s Deportation Plans published in the Gainesville Sun on Nov. 16. The article focused on recent demonstrations at UF and at college campuses around the country since the presidential election on Nov. 8. McFarlin cited an email she sent to CJC faculty, staff and students explaining measures taken to ensure a welcoming environment, including a student task force and a goal of hiring a director of inclusion with other UF colleges.
