How to access your faculty web space
Web space is available on the college Web server for hosting of faculty home pages and course materials. Alternatively, and also free, Gatorlink Web Services may be used.
If you are new or planning to use this server for the first time, e-mail webadmin@jou.ufl.edu so that your server directory can be configured for you.
Dreamweaver
There are two methods of publishing from Dreamweaver, one for "inside the building, logged on to the network" and the other for home or off-campus use.
Method One - Inside the building, logged on to the network
In the Advanced tab of the Site Definition window, enter the following values:
Access: |
Local/Network |
Remote Folder*: |
\\web03\username |
* There are a few instances where something besides username is used for the Remote Folder name. If this doesn't work, check with webadmin@jou.ufl.edu.
Method Two - home or off-campus
This method is very similar to Generic FTP below. This will also work inside the building if you'd rather not have two configurations. In the Advanced tab of the Site Definition window, enter the following values:
Access: |
FTP |
FTP Host: |
www.jou.ufl.edu |
Host Directory: |
www/faculty/username or |
Login: |
jou\username |
Generic FTP
Every FTP client is different, but the following settings should work in most.
Host: |
www.jou.ufl.edu |
Logon type: |
normal |
User: |
jou\username |
Remote directory: |
www/faculty/username or |
