This is version 5.0 of the UF College of Journalism and Communications Web site. It was created in 2004 by college Web administrator Craig Lee with support from Professor David Carlson and Dean Terry Hynes. The site design uses a template created by UF Web Administration. Special thanks also go to Professor Mindy McAdams, Matt Adams of WRUF, and Ph.D. student Danny Shipka for their commentary and willingness to look over the Web administrator's shoulder.

This was the first journalism site on the World Wide Web. Launched in October 1993, Version 1.0 was created by master's students Gary Ritzenthaler and Steve Brown with support from Professor David Carlson and Dave Brumbaugh. That first version ran on a 486-25 with 4 megabytes of RAM running Windows for Workgroups 3.1 and a freeware web-server program. It often was available only nights and weekends, the only times the machine was not needed for other tasks. View archived page image.

Version 2.0 of the site was created in 1995 by doctoral student Judy Robinson and Professor David Ostroff. View archived page image.

Version 3.0 was created in 1998 by Christian Conrad and Professor David Carlson, with assistance from Tung Szu Ching and Sharmila Gokhale. View archived page image.

Version 4.0 was created in 2000-2001 by college Web administrator Craig Lee, master's student Carrie E. Duda and Professor David Carlson. View archived page image.
