On Tuesday June 26, 2001, while in the Gator Corner Dining Facility of the University of Florida, Graham
was quietly eating his dinner when one of his classmates from the Summer Journalism Institute referred to him as Tiger in a cafeteria full of
people. Chaos began. Kids from all ages began whispering to one another, arguing if it was really Tiger or not.
Students from SJI seized the opportunity and began saying he was really Tiger Woods. One by one, kids started coming up to him asking
for his autograph and a picture with the Tiger Woods look-alike.
"Yesterday was probably the biggest thing that's ever happened to me. I couldn't even finish my dinner," Graham said.
"I thought it was crazy," said Ann Thomas Greer from West Point High School of West Point, VA.
"I thought that is was very funny. It brought joy to the kid's faces. I was instigating," said Ben Baird from Palatka High
School, of Palatka.
"When I first went to Tallahassee, everyone thought I looked like Tiger. As I got to thinking about it, I finally saw it,"
said Graham.
In some cases, having a significant other and being confused for a celebrity might bring some problems to the relationship.
"People have come up to us while we're eating dinner thinking I'm really Tiger," said Graham.
Being a celebrity look-alike brings the person a lot of attention from the opposite sex. How does Graham deal with having a
girlfriend and having other girls come up to him?
"She knows I love her and only her; I don't care about the other girls."
Graham is involved in many extracurricular activities in school, such as Mu Alpha Theta, sports information instructor and
Civinenttes Jent, a social organization. Outside of school he is part of the Justice Council in Leon County. He enjoys playing putt-putt, but
professional golf isn't something that he has in mind. He is also on the high honor roll.
So, how does Graham feel about this attention?
"If it were to get out of hand, I would tell them I wasn't Tiger Woods. But for the most part, I play along." |
