Your story starts here
The Summer Journalism Institute is a weeklong camp at the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications. Students will be immersed into our Innovation News Center where they will be working with our professors and students on news stories across our award-winning website, four radio stations and two TV stations.
Get a head start on college
Each student will be taking classes taught by professors from the UF College of Journalism and Communications, nationally-known instructors and our best students. They will stay in the UF dorms, eat at the UF dining halls and experience life as a college student. We want each student to not only get a taste of the “college life,” but to leave our camp with a better understanding of their career path.
Who Should Attend?
Incoming sophomores through seniors in high school
Students with a passion for storytelling
Newspaper and yearbook staffs (not required to be in either)
We still have a small number of spots lefts in the camp.
