A young man from Orlando somehow found himself enrolled at the University of Tennessee. His parents were concerned about him, but he seemed to be happy on “Rocky Top.” When he came home for Thanksgiving his freshman year, he had some big news. Pulling his father aside, he confided, “Dad, I want you to be the first to know that I am engaged.” “That's wonderful, son,” his dad replied, “tell me all about your fiancée.” “Well, she is beautiful, she's a pre-med major with a 4.0 GPA, and she was this year's Homecoming Queen. She comes from one of the finest families in east Tennessee, and best of all, Dad, she's a virgin!” Enraged, his dad leaped to his feet and exclaimed, “Son, if she ain't good enough for her own family, she ain't good enough for you!” |
