Grabass Charlestons
The sound is …"Fun exciting punk rock, in the Gainesville punk rock tradition." They say they are influenced by Husker Du and the Radons.
Did you know … This punk band has a drummer who is also the lead singer - what more could you want?
You can hear them … Wayward Council, Market Street Pub and Common Grounds.

listen to Beer Exile

Diamond Life
The sound is … "Garagey, kinda like white boy Chuck Berry. We don't listen to anything remotely current. We've had The Girl from Ipanema record playing constantly for the past month."
Did you know … Jody, the drummer, also played with the now-defunct Causey Way, where he was known as "The Youth."
You can hear them … Various musical establishments, when they feel like gracing us with their presence.

It Can Only Get Worse
The sound is … "Hardcore, '80s metal, thrash, punk and indie."
Did you know … Within the span of a few weeks, the guitarist and bassist managed to sustain serious injuries while involved in band related activities.
You can hear them … The Barn (behind the Gate gas station on 13th street.)
listen to Ronnie Got A Gun! Run! on mp3.com

The Mercury Program
The sound is … "Think Tortoise - electronic music without the electronics."
Did you know … Whitney, the latest addition to the instrumental band, plays both the Rhodes piano and the vibraphone.
You can hear them … Common Grounds, but would like to play elsewhere.

Laura Minor
The sound is … "I try to resist classification - I'm annoyed with the 'country' label."
She says that they're still evolving, but if she has to choose, she would say rock n' roll.
Did you know … Laura moved to Gainesville to further her education, but a chance meeting with local guitarist and songwriter Jared Flamm changed her life.
You can hear them … Common Grounds in Gainesville and all around the country.
