DUBLIN

·         An AIFS courier / tour manager will accompany the group in Galway and Dublin

 

·         A group transfer from Dublin to London by coach and ferry (from Dublin or Dun Laoghaire to Holyhead) with a sightseeing stop en-route to London.

 

LONDON

IN 13 MAY OUT 31 MAY 2010

 

• Housing in twin rooms at the IES Residence Hall in Chelsea. All rooms are en-suite and include a desk and lockable wardrobe plus Internet access points (dial-up access, not WIFI)a common room with Internet ports and tvs, shared kitchens with refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, lockable cupboards and basic pots, pans and cutlery, 24-hour reception desk and electronic key card entry.

 

• Homestay Accommodation Option: Accommodation in a twin room in a homestay within a residential neighbourhood of London in the inner 3 zones of the London transport system. Continental breakfast (cereals, toast, juice, tea/coffee) will be provided in the homestay five days per week and students will have access to the kitchen for the preparation of other meals. STUDENTS TAKING THIS OPTION WILL RECEIVE A $300 REDUCTION ON THE PROGRAMME FEE (SEE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS)

 

• A travel pass for use on buses and tube trains in the inner two zones of the London transport system. * Students opting for homestay accommodation will receive a travel pass which covers travel between their homestay and the central of London (typically Zones 1-3).

 

• A half-day guided sightseeing tour of London with professional guide and a trip on the London Eye ferris wheel by the River Thames.

 

• A cultural programme including 1 guided daytrip out of London, a guided walking tour and an evening theatre performance.

 

• Access to the AIFS Summer Optional Cultural Calendar which will include daytrips, walking tours and theatre events. Tickets will be offered at a student rate and signup information will be sent to UF for the pre-departure meeting.

 

·         Access to the wireless enabled AIFS Student Centre and the services of an experienced AIFS Programme Coordinator and Student Advisors for information, advice, fax and mail services and emergency contact service

 

·         Access to the student computer lab (27 PCs) located in the AIFS Student Centre with free email, printing and Internet facilities.

 

·       Classroom / meeting room space in Galway, Dublin and London

 

·         $50 non-refundable application fee

 

·         Student medical and programme fee refund insurance policies, as outlined in the AIFS insurance brochure. Coverage includes $10,000 accidental medical expense and $10,000 accidental death payment plus 24-hour emergency care assistance during the programme and repatriation in cases of verified emergency beyond the students’ control.

 

·         $51,000,000 liability coverage with UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA named as co-insured for the duration of the programme

 

·         Accounting / billing services in the U.S.

 

• Pre-departure information services and a toll-free contact number in the U.S.

 

Program Fee:  Undergraduates, approx. $5300, contingent on the number of students who enroll.  Graduate students pay a slightly higher rate to receive graduate credit.

OPTIONAL COMPONENTS

 

·         On a space-available basis, students may purchase the optional transportation package consisting of round-trip airfare (Orlando – Shannon /  London - Orlando) and round-trip transfers overseas between the airports in Ireland and London and the housing in Galway and London for an additional $875 excluding mandatory U.S. government and airline-imposed departure taxes, fees and fuel surcharges (estimated at $297) for which students will be billed separately.

 

The group airfare rate can only be guaranteed for a minimum enrolment of 10 or more students taking this option.

 

AIFS will reserve spaces at the above prices according to information on the student application form. Once airline tickets have been issued to students they can only be changed directly with the issuing agent once the student is abroad – agent and airline-imposed penalties apply.

 

AIFS cannot arrange airline tickets for students applying after Wednesday 17th February 2010.

 

AIFS is financially committed to any confirmed airline seats from Friday 22nd January 2010 and therefore an airfare review will take place prior to this date. AIFS requests that UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA provide an indication of how many students intend to purchase the transportation package listed above. However, should UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA decide not to offer this transportation package to their students AIFS must be notified before Friday 22nd January 2010.

 

·         A three-day, two-night excursion to Venice including accommodation in twin and triple-bedded rooms on a bed and breakfast basis in Lido or Venice, a half-day walking tour of Venice to end at the Doges Palace with entrance, a 3-day vaporetto pass and a group meal. Services of an AIFS courier / tour manager are included.

The land fee for this excursion is $525 based on an enrolment of 40 students and 4 faculty members / graduate assistants. In addition AIFS will arrange roundtrip flights including airport transfers between London and Venice for $TBC per person.

 

·         Homestays: Participants can opt to live in a twin room in a homestay in a residential area of London and receive a reduction of $300 on the programme fee.

 

·         Optional Extra Protection Insurance Coverage, including increased medical insurance ($65) and/or personal effects insurance ($90) as outlined in the AIFS insurance brochure.
