to making new friends and creating great memories with you guys one
picture at a time.

it. I'm looking forward to learning a lot about Berlin and immersing
myself into such a historical setting. I
plan on documenting some of my experience of the city with 35mm
shots and 8mm footage. |

DARON DEAN –
Teaching Assistant –
I’m
the photo director at The St. Augustine Record and a 2004 graduate
of the UF College of Journalism. I’ve had internships at the Dallas
Morning News and the Anchorage Daily News. My photographs have been
published in various national magazines and newspapers, including
the New York Times. In fall semesters, I teach JOU4604, Advanced
Photojournalism I, at UF. I look forward to helping you develop and
complete your projects in Berlin. |
|
JOHN FREEMAN
-- I'm the professor taking the group to Berlin. This photo was
taken during my first experience living in Germany, when I was
in the second, third and fourth grades in Rodenbach, near Ramstein
Air Force Base. I've grown some since then. My father was later
assigned to Berlin, where I graduated from high school. I'm a
real sucker for nostalgia, and look forward to returning to this
fascinating city for my 12th study-abroad trip. My family thinks
that red hat belonged to my twin sister, but no one remembers why
I'm wearing it.
