AUDREYANNA
LOGUERRE -- Hey
everyone, I’m 18 years old and a first year journalism major at the
University of Florida. I’m ecstatic about learning photography in Berlin
this summer. I believe this trip will be a great learning experience for me
because I want to pursue a career in international journalism. This will be
my first trip outside of the country, first time on an airplane and first
photography class. There’s a first time for everything, right? -- but it’ll
be best experienced with fellow Gators. I can’t wait to meet everyone and
explore Germany.

EMILY STANTON -- I'm a 19-year-old second year
Journalism major. I have never been to Berlin, and I am looking forward to
spending quality time with the historic city. I love to travel, especially
overseas. I have taken many fine art photography classes, but not a
journalism orientated one. I hope this will be a great learning experience
in photography and history.

MAGGIE POWERS – I’m
a third year journalism pre-law major. Although I love studying and
experiencing different cultures, this will be my first time to Europe.
I love photography and believe that everyone has some kind of story
to share and that photographs are the most accurate portrayals of these
stories. I look forward to exploring the ins-and-outs of Berlin with
all of you.

ALEXANDRA SANCHEZ -- I'm Alex M Sanchez,
my friends call me Sanchez because there are too many Alex's in this world.
I'm extremely excited for this trip to Berlin I have never been to Europe
or across the pond really. I love photography and have since I was in
middle school. I really want to learn as much as possible on this trip so I
will probably be asking a ton of questions. I know we will have a great
time and I would love to meet everyone!

SYDNEY LINDELL -- Was the first person to sign up
for this trip – it happened on Sept. 21, 2011! She’s a journalism major
from Tampa, and is currently taking JOU3601, “Photographic Journalism.”

|
|
PHILLIP NUNLEY -- I am a third year
journalism student. This will be first time to Europe and I am beyond
excited to go. I am pretty shy at first, but warm up easily. My
birthday is May 23, so I will be celebrating in Berlin, which I think will
be the most memorable birthday to date. I look forward to meeting
everyone and sharing this experience with you all.

|
MAURA FRIEDMAN -- I’m
a 20-year-old political science and journalism double major with a
photojournalism emphasis at the University of Georgia (I’m sorry y’all, I
can’t promise I won’t call the dawgs). Most of my time is consumed
with environmental organizing and activism through the Sierra Student
Coalition and my duties as managing editor at our monthly independent
student magazine, Ampersand. I love working on pieces I write and shoot
myself and am so excited to explore the politics and art of Berlin, my two
usual beats, and where they intersect. I’m keeping a blog for a class, so
feel free to check out: maursupial.tumblr.com.

ALEX
CATALANO -- I'm
very excited to have to the opportunity to be a part of the 2012
photojournalism trip to Berlin. I was a little disheartened when I learned
Berlin was not in Belgium as I was looking forward to a good waffle story.
Dance photography seems to be my niche, but I enjoy shooting a wide range
of subjects and certain types of people. I'm looking forward to meeting all
of you. Safe travels.

LISA
FRIMBERGER -- Hello!
Well, I’m not a journalism major (I’m pre-nursing), but I am a
photographer! I worked for two years as a second shooter wedding
photographer and editor, and photography is what I wish I was studying.
Last summer I took a two-month solo backpacking trip through Europe and it
was easily the most amazing experience of my life! I only got to spend a
week in Germany and I didn’t even get to visit its coolest city, Berlin.
I’m super excited to go back, and spend my time doing my two favorite
things in the world, traveling and photographing!!

KIVA
EBERTS -- Hello everyone. I am 19-year old
exploratory major. This is my first experience with photography,
journalism, and leaving the country. I love doing anything active and am
very excited for our impending German odyssey.
|
|
RACHEL JONES – I’m a third year UF student who
loves to write and loves to travel. I recently started filming for a band, but
I do not have much experience with photography other than friends' poses
and scrap-book nature shots of sunsets and mountains. I have learned a
little German, and am very excited to have a shot at using it while
exploring and learning from such a vibrant city. I can't wait to attempt to
capture it with something so new to me.

RACHEL
DELOACH – Hi everyone! I’m a second year English major
at UF. I’m really excited to explore Berlin and learn as much as I can
about photography and journalism. I’ve never been to Europe but I love
traveling and I have found that my enthusiasm often makes up for my lack of
experience. I can’t wait to meet you all and have lots of adventures in Berlin!

JOHN FREEMAN
-- I'm the professor taking the group to Berlin. This photo was taken
during my first experience living in Germany, when I was in the
second, third and fourth grades in Rodenbach, near Ramstein Air Force Base.
(I've grown some since then.) My father was later assigned to Berlin, where
I graduated from high school. I'm a real sucker for nostalgia, and
look forward to returning to this fascinating city for my eighth
study-abroad trip. My family thinks that red hat belonged to my twin
sister, but no one remembers why I'm wearing it.
