MMC 2265 Technology, Change
and Communications
Explore the interaction between society and communication technologies.
The Internet, alphabets, paper, the printing press, photography and the
telegraph have all changed not only the ways in which humans communicate
but also cultures, governments, economies, art and religion. Study the
invention and adoption of earlier technologies to understand the way today’s
communications media are affecting us and our future. (No prerequisites;
undergraduates only.)
