Undergraduate students in the College of Journalism and Communications may apply to earn graduate credit (up to 12 credit hours) in a combined degree or "4-and-1" program, specializing in online media. This program allows the student to "double count" credits and complete the master’s degree in as little as one year after earning the bachelor’s degree.

Students who apply must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. Ideally, a student who wants to enter this program should meet with a 4-and-1 program adviser early in the spring of the sophomore year. Students accepted to the 4-and-1 program still must complete the regular application process for the master’s program, including taking the GRE and maintaining the required GPA.

To learn more about the combined degree programs in the College of Journalism and Communications, make an appointment with the appropriate graduate coordinator.
