Wilkerson joins Telecommunication faculty
(July 22, 2001) Tim Wilkerson has accepted an assistant professor position in Telecommunication that focuses on production, Dean Terry Hynes announced today. He will join the college in August for the Fall 2002 semester.
Wilkerson earned the MFA this spring from the University of Texas at Austin. His B.A. is in cinema production and theory from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. His completed works include “Sallah” (2000), an experimental documentary with digital effects rendered on Avid that was produced in part with a grant from the Illinois Arts Council/NEA, and “Suddenly It Rained,” his MFA thesis film. The latter is a narrative film based on a short story by Baha Taher. The proposal for this film received a $5,000 award from the Texas Filmmakers’ Production Fund.
