The University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Chapter has received a national PRSSA 2020 Star Chapter Award.

The award honors chapter leadership for providing programming and relationship-building opportunities for students. The UF PRSSA Chapter, which was one of the nine original PRSSA chapters created in 1968, also received this honor in 2015 and 2018.

PRSSA is the foremost organization for college students interested in public relations and communication with nearly 9,000 students and advisers organized into more than 300 chapters in the U.S. and South America. The organization advocates rigorous academic standards for public relations education, adherence to high ethical principles and diversity in the profession.
