Spiker Joins Journalism Faculty
(June 5, 2001) Ted Spiker has accepted a tenure-accruing position in the magazine specialty in the Department of Journalism, Dean Terry Hynes announced today. He will join the college faculty in August.
Spiker is senior editor of Men's Health magazine, published by
Rodale, Inc., which has a circulation of 1.6 million. He has been with
the magazine for three years, starting as associate editor in March 1998.
Prior to joining Men's Health, Ted was editor (1994-1998) and assistant
editor (1992-1994) of Delaware Today Magazine. He also worked as
a briefly as a reporter (Delaware State News) in 1992. He has taught
part-time at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and at the University of
Delaware. He earned the master of science degree in journalism from Columbia
University in 1991 and the bachelor of arts, with a double major in communication
and English-journalism, from the University of Delaware in 1990.
