Robinson joins Public Relations faculty
(February 9, 2004) Jennifer Robinson has accepted an offer to join the faculty as an assistant professor in the Department of Public Relations, beginning in August, Dean Terry Hynes announced today. Robinson is completing her Ph. D. at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Her research specialty is risk communications, which fits with our strategic directions and those of the University because of the strength this will add to our collective expertise in science and health communications, Hynes added.
Robinson is a native of Australia. She earned the bachelor of arts degree with honors from the Australian National University in Canberra, a graduate diploma in science communication from the same institution, and the master of arts degree in telecommunication and film from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
She has worked for ten years in Tuscaloosa as an educational TV Curriculum Coordinator at the Center for Communication and Educational Technology. Prior to that she worked for one year as a science communication scholar at the National Science and Technology Center in Canberra, and for six months as the administrative assistant to the executive director of R.E.S.U.L.T.S. Australia, also in Canberra.
