UF recognizes overseas activities of Kaplan, Molleda
(November 23, 2005) UF recently named John Kaplan its International Educator of the Year (senior faculty) and awarded him $5,000.
The university also named Kaplan and Juan-Carlos Molleda Distinguished International Educators. The College nominated Kaplan and Molleda for the senior and junior faculty awards, respectively.
The International Center organizes the annual awards.
"I learned of the award while in Seoul," said Kaplan, who spoke at the International Documentary Photo Awards seminar and judged the inaugural International Documentary Photo Awards competition, which attracted more than 8,000 images from across the world.
During the early November trip, Kaplan also addressed China's largest photography festival, which was organized the Chinese Photographers Association.
