Dvir to join college as Director of Communications
(November 17, 2003) Boaz Dvir has accepted an offer to join the college as its first Director of Communications, Dean Terry Hynes announced today.
Dvir brings to this position approximately 15 years of professional experience in journalism, as a writer, reporter, managing editor, and editor. Most recently, he worked from 1998-2003 for the American City Business Journals in Jacksonville and South Florida. Earlier, he was editor of the Jewish Times in Palm Beach County from 1994-98. In addition, he has worked with the Sun-Sentinel Community Newspapers, Religion News Service, the Jewish World/Tribune, the Jerusalem Post and the Jewish Journal. He was an assistant editor and professional officer with the Israel Defense Forces Spokesman's Unit in 1990-91.
Dvir earned the bachelor of science degree in journalism from the University of Florida in 1988. He "brings not only strong professional experience but also a knowledge and understanding of our college derived from his experience as a student as well as a deep appreciation and affection for the college and the University of Florida," Hynes stated.
