UF Public Relations students place
second in Bateman Competition
(May 2, 2003) UF's team placed second in this year's national Bateman Case Study Competition sponsored by the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), Public Relations department chair Dr. James L. Terhune announced today.
The student team members were Amy Holtzman, Aja Ishmael, Ariana Ollila, and Joy Senart. The faculty advisers were Juan-Carlos Molleda and Jack Felton.
The objective of this year's competition was to create and implement public relations campaigns to raise awareness, trial and adoption of Nutella, the hazelnut spread from Europe. The three competition finalists presented their campaigns to PRSSA and Ferrero U.S.A., Inc. representatives in Somerset, NJ.
The team from Loyola University New Orleans took first place this year. Third place went to the team from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Sixty-five teams submitted entries in the competition.
UF has won the competition seven times since its inception in 1973.
