Babanikos Selected for
UF Research Foundation Professorship
(March 27, 2001) Prof. James Babanikos (Telecommunication) has been selected to receive a University of Florida Research Foundation Professorship award for 2001-03, Dean Terry Hynes announced today. Babanikos is the college's third faculty member to receive this honor (in addition to Debbie Treise and Linda Hon). This three-year professorship recognizes faculty who have established a distinguished record of research and scholarship that is expected to lead to continuing distinction in their field.
"Babanikos's record of accomplishment in creative scholarly activities is exceptional," Hynes said. His dramatic and documentary video and film works have earned 15 major national awards in juried venues in the past five years.
