UF student journalists win 25 SPJ Mark of Excellence awards
(April 11, 2005) University of Florida student journalists won 25 Mark of Excellence awards from the Society of Professional Journalists at the 2005 Regional Conference April 8-9 in Charleston, S.C., making UF the best school in SPJ's Region 3. Regional first-place winning entries will be forwarded to the national competition, and national winners will be honored in October at the 2005 SPJ National Convention in Las Vegas.
UF chapter Faculty Adviser David Carlson, President Adrian G. Uribarri and Secretary June Cappiello accepted the awards. Regional Director Holly Fisher announced the winners:
