The College's Division of Multimedia Properties is proud to be the home of four radio and two television stations.
Florida’s 5 WUFT-TV
WUFT signed on the air November 10, 1958 with a mission to provide educational broadcasting to the University of Florida and other schools within the broadcast area. In the late '50s and early '60s programming emphasis at WUFT was on instructional broadcasts. With the later addition of locally produced and public broadcasting service (PBS) programming and programs from other distributors, programming on WUFT began to emphasize British drama, political comedy, film classics, childrens programming, musical specials of all varieties and virtually "something for everyone."
WUFT News, a regular and professional weekday news program, was established by WUFT in 1978. Using the best telecommunication students, the program continues to report on news events of interest to the residents of North Central Florida.
WUFT broadcasts three digital channels: The main channel, 5.1, is the HD channel, 5.2 is an SD channel offering PBS Create and 5.3 is an SD channel offering PBS World and Florida Knowledge Network. Cox Cable in Gainesville carries all three channels. WUFT-TV 5.1 is offered as Cox basic cable channel 3, WUFT-TV 5.2 is offered as Cox digital cable channel 113 and WUFT-TV 5.3 is offered as Cox Digital Channel 114.

WRUF Sportsradio 850
Gainesville's first local radio station and one of the oldest in Florida, WRUF Sportsradio 850 serves 13 counties daily with nine hours of locally-hosted sports talk shows featuring Steve Russell, Joe Girvan and Larry Vettel . The station also features Gator sports, Sporting News Radio and NFL sports from Westwood One. WRUF Sportsradio 850 went on the air in 1928 and celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2008.

Country 103.7 – The Gator
WRUF-FM, Country 103.7 – The Gator features a fresh new mix of country music hits from the past 10 years to today. Selections include many popular artists such as Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flats…to name a few. Country 103.7 – The Gator is also the home of Gator Football broadcasts. The 100,000 signal signed on in 1948 and reaches 16 counties in North Florida.

Rock104.com
Rock104.com is evolving to meet the needs of listeners on every new media platform available, especially online streaming through the latest apps and video applications. The internet based station will continue to feature classic rock favorites.

Florida’s 89.1 WUFT-FM
WUFT-FM is a 100,000 watt public radio station serving 16 counties in North Central Florida. Signing on in September 1981, WUFT quickly garnered a reputation as one of the top public radio stations in the country. Broadcasting on 89.1 in stereo from studios located in the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, WUFT-FM presents a 24/7 news/talk service. In January 2006, WUFT-FM added digital, HD broadcast and broadcasts three different HD channels, HD1 is its 24/7 news talk service, HD2 is a 24/7 classical music service and HD3 is a 24/7 old time radio service.

WJUF-FM
WJUF-FM is a 20,000 watt repeater station located in Citrus County, which retransmits the WUFT-FM signal to residents of the Florida Nature Coast area. Its frequency differs from the parent station (90.1) and serves the residents of Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco counties.

WUFT Radio Reading Service
This service went on-air in June of 1992. It regularly broadcasts selections
from books and newspapers to blind and visually impaired persons. The service
offers more than 50 hours a week of readings from local and regional newspapers,
books and magazines to keep listeners in touch with their communities and
the world. Readings are broadcast to listeners via a special radio receiver.
These receivers are loaned free to listeners deemed eligible by a medical
professional.
