FSPA Evaluation Service
FSPA provides a yearly evaluation service for newspapers, newsmagazines, yearbooks, magazines and broadcast programs. The focus of the evaluation service is to provide feedback that will enable students to improve their publications and broadcast programs.
The evaluations are done by outstanding publication advisers from other states' press associations, professional journalists and journalism faculty members. Staffs and advisers receive a written critique, providing specific comments on strengths and weaknesses of their publications and broadcasts.
At the FSPA convention, the ratings are announced, and every publication and broadcast program receives an award certificate or plaque.
FSPA evaluation services are not a function of the FSPA office at the University of Florida. They are coordinated by an independent contractor, Jane Robbins, who is hired by the Florida Scholastic Press Association.
