What is the FSPAcast?

FSPAcast was a three part audio series that aimed to show students how easy it is to create a podcast. It was produced in 2007 by former FSPA Executive Director Judy Robinson. In this project, Robinson interviewed FSPA's 2006 Student Journalist of the year Miles Doran, as well as Diane McFarlin, publisher of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. If you want to view the mp3 files where you could just download them from the Web, go to http://www.jou.ufl.edu/fspacast/FSPAcast.xml.

  • How to get the podcast? It's currently posted in iTunes. You can subscribe -- it's free -- by clicking here. This will open iTunes (assuming you have it installed on your computer) on the page with the FSPAcast. You then select the subscribe button in iTunes. That way when we update the podcast it will come in to your iTunes automatically. It's much like a subscription to a magazine except that you don't pay for it.

  • If you've never subscribed to a podcast before you can learn about using iTunes and podcasts at iTunes 101. The program iTunes is free and works on both Macintosh and Windows platforms. You can listen on your computer. You don't need an iPod.

  • In the second podcast listen to an interview with FSPA's 2006 Student Journalist of the year Miles Doran. He shares what it's like to be FSPA's 2006 and the experience of first year at university.

  • In the third podcast, listen to an interview with Diane McFarlin, publisher of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. Did you know she started her career on her high school yearbook and attended the FSPA convention?
