TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Lecturer, August 2006-present    
Teaching beginning and advanced online media skills and theory courses to television and radio broadcast students.

University of California, Berkeley, CA
Graduate Student Instructor, January 2002-May 2005
Taught undergraduate city planning and American cultural landscape courses.  Named 2004 Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor. Collaborated on new edition of a popular urban planning tour book of Oakland with Paul Groth, Professor of Architecture and Geography.

Traveled to the Russian Far East, Bosnia, Czech Republic and Croatia to lecture on citizen journalism, Web 2.0 and portable devices, and new media law and ethics.


MEDIA EXPERIENCE

Worked at a mid-sized newspaper (65-75K circulation) in the community news division of Dow Jones.  Developed and conducted multimedia training for reporters, editors, photographers and newsroom assistants; participated in new high-level think tank group for future projects; served as a member of the technology subcommittee, chair of the research subcommittee; coordinated all online enhancement opportunities of daily stories with editors, reporters and photographers; directed the work of web designer and night web editors; developed proposals and budgets for all New Media projects and corporate multimedia training.
