Journalism, mass media, corporate structure, technology, public affairs, media influence on political attitudes and behavior.

Biography

Weston joined the UF College of Journalism and Communications faculty in 1970. He worked as a reporter and editor on several Midwestern daily newspapers, including The Sioux City (Iowa) Journal and The Omaha World-Herald. He also has worked as an editor for The Gainesville Sun and Florida TODAY. His teaching assignments include Newspaper Reporting labs and Public Affairs Reporting, and he was honored by the university in 1994-95 for excellence in undergraduate teaching. Weston has been published in Journalism Quarterly and Journalism Educator, authored or co-authored papers for The Southern Political Science Association and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication and he is the co-author of Interactive Newswriting. Weston has earned his B.A, M.S., and Ph.D.
