Angel of Ahlem is screening as part of the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the liquidation of the Litzmanstadt Ghetto in Lodz, Poland.  The film will be shown during the open air film shows at Stary Rynek Square on Aug 25, 8:30 pm and in the Film Museum on Aug 28, 6.00 pm. The largest gathering of Ahlem survivors since 1945 took place in May 2007 at a private screening of Angel of Ahlem at New York's Lincoln Center. The screening was hosted by the Documentary Institute for the Tott family and for the Ahlem survivors and their families. A highlight of the evening was the appearance of former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.

Kissinger, who served along with Vernon in the 84th Infantry division, introduced the film to the audience saying, “I’m very proud of the film.” His introduction was followed by an on-stage reunion of the Ahlem survivors.
