Greasy Food
Some people swear by the hamburger-and-fries cure. There’s no good reason to avoid greasy foods when you’re fighting last night’s overindulgence, unless you’re worried about clogged arteries. Greasy food in moderation is not life threatening and you’re young, so if it makes you feel better and if you can keep it down, GO FOR IT!

No Hangover?
If you close down the bar every night but wake up feeling great the next morning, you might not be as lucky as you think, says Doering. When you drink regularly, your body develops a higher tolerance. But that could be a red flag.

“I would worry about somebody who could put down a 750 milliliter bottle of Captain Morgan’s and the next day not have a hangover,” Doering says. “Either that person is a confirmed problem drinker or Superman.”

But the chances of being Superman are super-slim, and that leaves just one other choice so use good judgment.

Once you’re hung over, there is no quick fix. You’re best plan of attack is to get plenty of rest and drink plenty of fluids. The only real cure for a hangover, according to Doering, is a “tincture of time.” And in your condition, you’ll have plenty of it.

While hangovers can't always be prevented, there are ways to ensure that tomorrow morning won't leave you full of regret.

  • Don't drink. But if you must, eat before drinking.
  • Drink slowly, and keep track of how many drinks you've consumed. Your body metabolizes approximately one drink per hour, so limiting your intake can help.
  • Drink double-fisted. Always have a glass of water on hand while you drink.
  • Go to be early if you want to salvage what's left of a decent night's sleep.
