In class, Jason Braswell is tame. But in the ring, he's brutal.

The Bad Boy

Why women want him -- He makes the woman feel like she's a little naughty, too. Women feel dangerous with this type of man and at the same time want to help him be good. Bad boys also make life exciting. Besides, it's fun to do the chasing sometimes.

How to become him -- Approach her, but don't seem overly interested. This doesn't mean check out other women, it means be aloof. Make her think you're a loner. Tell her that you've never met anyone you can trust. If the opportunity arises for you to stand up for her, do it. Ask her what is the one thing she's always wanted to do, but always too afraid to try. Then suggest the two of you do it. If you're afraid to do it, then try to play it off like you've already done it. This is not the type of guy the faint of heart should attempt to emulate.

The Free Spirit

Why women want him -- His laid-back personality is refreshing. He may seem like a slacker, but, to women stuck in the daily grind, he is relaxation and spontaneity. Free-spirited men also seem more concerned with good deeds than with worldly possessions.

How to become him -- Sandals, baggy pants and a T-shirt will give you the desired look. Messy hair will also help. Note: messy does not mean dirty. Don't talk about anything superficial. Stick to a topic like the environment. Try saying some-thing like, "I'm saving up to go to Brazil to work with environmentalists to save the rain forest." If you're going to talk about the environment, you should have some statistics. Tell her that every year, Brazil chops down an area of forest the size of the state of Nebraska.

The Jock

Why women want him -- Asking a woman why she likes a jock is like asking a man why he likes Playboy bunnies. It's obvious.

How to become him -- Not every man can pretend to be a jock. Let's be realistic. If you're 5 foot 4 inches tall and 120 pounds, you should pick another type to aspire to. For those of you who can pull it off, dress the part. Jocks have decent bodies and women want them to show it off. A tight shirt is the key to success.

The Philosopher

Why women want him -- Smart is sexy. A firm grasp of literature is sexy. The philosopher's mind seems intelligent and romantic. He puts thoughts of deep conversations and poetry into a woman's mind. The philosopher appeals to a woman who craves intellectual intimacy, which could lead to physical intimacy.

How to become him -- Beforeattempting this façade, you must be willing to read. Try a French philosopher like Michel Foucault or a German philosopher like Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche. You probably will have more luck finding the philosopher-lover at a coffee shop than a bar. Wear dark colors and look a little disheveled. Carry a book and wear wire-rimmed
glasses if you have them. Speak a little more
softly than you normally would. Start up a conversation and make a link between what she is saying and something the philosopher you have studied has said. For example, offer to buy her a cup of coffee and when she protests respond with, "As Nietzsche would say, 'I was in darkness, but I took three steps and found myself in paradise. The first step was a good thought, the second, a good word; and the third, a good deed.'"

The Entrepreneur

Why women want him -- Two words: power suit.

How to become him -- Two more words: power suit. A black or blue suit will transform the T-shirt and jeans guy into the business savvy man. The tie is optional, but the button down, long-sleeve shirt isn't. Don't forget to wear nice, polished shoes. Like the jock, the successful business-man has a lot to do with the look. If you're going to a bar to pick up a woman, order a martini instead of a beer. You also have to be willing to throw around some cash. You don't have to buy drinks for the whole bar, but at least buy her and her friends drinks. Talk about stocks and the office, but don't overdo it. You want her to think you're successful, not incredibly boring and obsessed with work.
