Still, women seeking
the “M.R.S.” degree are in the minority. Most students are not looking to leave
college with a diamond, or even a relationship. Stefanie White*, 21, says her
plans to graduate from UF with a finance degree and attend law school do not
involve any guys. Although she dates sporadically, she has few expectations of
meeting a husband in college. “I can’t even believe people really do that,” she
exclaims. “But I know it happens, because I see my friends do it.”College is a time when guys play around, she adds. Most of the guys she knows aren’t really interested in having a serious relationship. And neither is she.
