alumni profilesArthur Seitz passionate about Tennis Life
Arthur Seitz, ADV 1965, has photographed many of the epic events in tennis history. Tennis Life Magazine focused on his creative work in a special section in its September/October issue. "Snapshots of the Tennis Life" focused on his experience of 30 years photographing the people and places of tennis--such events as Bobby Riggs vs. Billie Jean King and John McEnroe vs. Bjorn Borg. Seitz said his "best photos never published" were "Andre Agassi and Andrea Jeager with a dozen terminally ill children in the garden of his rented Wimbledon home." But for the highlights of his career he pointed to having his photos appear in Sports Illustrated and Life magazines as pictures of the year and covers and features in Newsweek, Time, People, Vanity Fair, Esquire and Match. Seitz said that apart from tennis he has covered 20 Super Bowls, Masters Golf championships, the Kentucky Derby, Breeder's Cup, World Cup Polo, among others. He also photographed four American presidents and had two Jackie Kennedy covers in Paris Match. "It's truly a rush when you know that you've made an extraordinary
photo that maybe a hundred other photographers missed," Seitz told
Tennis Life. "The challenge is to take a photograph which
will stand the test of time." |
