Raising the BarHearst Photo
After second-place finishes in 1998, 1999 and 2000, UF emerged victorious this year. In round one of the team competition, Michael Tercha placed fourth and Matt May was 19th in the Feature and Portrait-Personality category. He received a $750 award. In round two, Glenn Danforth finished first and Robert C. Witzel placed fifth in the Sports and News category. They received $2,000 and $600 awards, respectively. In the third round, Yvonne Malch was sixth and Kelly Danforth was eighth in the Picture Story competition. They each received $500 awards. Six top photographers from the three rounds of competition were selected to come to San Francisco for the weekend shootout. Tercha and Danforth represented UF.
