Undergrad enrollment
continues to climb

Undergraduate enrollment in the College of Journalism and Communications climbed by 4.8 percent this fall, while graduate enrollment dipped by about 12 percent.

According to figures released by acting UF Registrar Steve Pritz, ADV 1970:

Total College enrollment was 3,313.

Public relations is now the largest undergraduate program in the College, with 907 majors (including 564 juniors and seniors). Advertising remains a close second (826), followed by Journalism (694) and Telecommunication (684).

Graduate enrollment is 195, compared to 222 in Fall 2000.

The number of minority students rose to 780 (freshmen through graduate students) or about 23.4 percent.
